The Platform:Do you have the guts?
Do you have what it takes to get out from these platforms?
The hero's journey of Hercules is a structure form that was derive from Joseph Campbell's mono-myth from his famous book entitled "The Hero With A Thousand Faces" and it was adapted by Christopher Vogler in the "Twelve Stage Hero's Journey" this is a detailed character arc for a hero's story and it is overlay into more traditional three act structure wherein it is illustrated using the beginning, middle and end sequence.
The journey of Hercules undergone into a process through the 12 stages that was normally done by every popular Greek hero like Achilles. These stages is like a different platform that an aspiring hero must be able to surpass wherein they will have to endure and prove to the gods that they have what it takes to become a hero. The stages where full of elements that will test the ability, motive and attitude of the aspiring hero if they deserve the position and entitlement as hero
Like in every stages these platforms is made with obstacles that might be slippery, tricky or deceiving that may either result to the fall or victory of the aspiring hero. The platforms have different level of difficulty similar with the stages of a heroes's journey wherein as you level up the more tedious and challenging will be the tasks but do we have what it takes to become a real life hero?
Living in the 21st century is related with the stages of a heroes journey wherein the end result would be security. Each day that passes is like living with the different level of platforms that we have to take in order to survive in life. These platforms seems to be a requirement that each of us in the society will have to face in order to provide the security we need each day, the security might be in a form of physical things, emotional, finance or even health security but knowing how tough every platforms we have to face there are no assurance if we can be able to surpass each stages.
Unfortunately, some our being stuck in different platforms because the platform might be too risky, tedious or tricky that causes other people to fall but some are being stuck due to no privilege, opportunity and resources that makes them downcast in every platforms similar with Hercules stages of being a hero wherein due to no experiences, he have been tag as "not worthy" in becoming hero because compare to other known heroes, he don't fit with them however Hercules prove to everyone and to the gods that he have what it takes in becoming a hero even with no wealth or experiences but sadly it does not apply in our life in the 21st century because those who are powerless and voiceless would eventually be stuck and die in those platforms without being heard or notice.
On the other hand, some people have striven to continue and surpass each stages despite the difficulty of those platforms because like Hercules they were determined to obtain "security" that will satisfy their need while others might be privilege enough to have it instantly because they are born in wealth, good resources or power that aid them to have an edge in surpassing each platforms
At the end of the day, It is in our hands if we will be contented to stay in our platforms or if we will continue to strive for the security that we all wanted. Likewise, every stage is made to strengthen and shape us in becoming the person that we want to be similar with Hercules hero's journey wherein the process have help him to become the most remarkable hero in Greek.
